Birthdays.

We finally started talking about this year's birthday party, and we have made some decisions regarding the theme and decor issues. I have to admit that I'm really excited about it, and it's amazing to see how I view my birthday party (along with Diego's) now, as opposed to how I saw it years ago.

I had already talked to my whole posse and we had agreed to go to Tazz (un bar en Costa Salguero) after going to Caix parece. However, little did I know that my mom had been having secret talks with one of our best friends, Roderick, and organizing a surprise party. While we were getting ready, my parents, out of the blue, ask Diego and I to go to the family room because they had made pizza or some similar absurd argument. When we opened the door, we heard "Surprise!" and discovered most of our friends with smiles on their faces.

Now, the feeling I had when I heard that infamous "Surprise!" is hard to explain. I believe it's a mixture between feeling betrayed and embarrased. Luckily, I eventually let go of that horrible sensation and ended up having an amazing time dancing to the All Saints CD that I got as a birthday gift. But, ever since that day I have made it clear to all of my friends that I absolutely hate surprise parties, unless I'm not the "surprised" birthday boy... I guess it comes down to me being a control freak, and also how I get very upset when plans for an outing change.

love you both
